SSC: what it means

One of the oldest kink community frameworks: activities should be safe, approached with a sound state of mind, and fully consensual. Many people now pair it with RACK or PRICK because no activity is perfectly “safe”.

Also called: Safe, Sane and Consensual.

In practice

SSC was one of the first ways the community put its values into words, and many people still use it as a shorthand for doing things responsibly. Its limitation is that “safe” can sound absolute, which is why many people pair or replace it with RACK or PRICK, which talk openly about risk and personal responsibility.

Consent and safety

Consent tools only work when everyone agrees on them ahead of time, sober and without pressure. Anyone can pause or stop at any moment, and a “yes” last week is not a “yes” today. If something feels off, stopping is always the right call. For meeting someone new, see our safety tips.
