Munch etiquette: what it means

The unwritten rules of munches: wear everyday clothes, use scene names if people prefer them, do not out anyone or share who attended, do not take photos of other people, do not treat it as a hookup venue, and do not touch anyone without asking.

In practice

The basics: everyday clothes, no photos of others, use the name people introduce themselves with, do not share who you saw, and do not touch anyone without asking. A munch is a social event, not a place to proposition people. Organizers often post their own rules; read them before you go.

Consent and safety

Community spaces run on discretion and consent. Do not out people, photograph them or share who attended. Ask before touching anyone, respect house rules, and remember that being in a kink space is never consent to anything. For meeting someone new, see our safety tips.
