Switch: what it means

Someone who enjoys both roles, sometimes leading or topping and sometimes following or bottoming, depending on the partner, the mood or the activity.

In practice

Switches might lead with one partner and follow with another, or change depending on the day or the activity. Being a switch is a complete identity, not indecision. In profiles, people often write which side they lean toward and what they are curious about, which makes conversations easier.

Consent and safety

Roles describe what partners agreed to, not who matters more. Every role sits inside negotiated limits, a working safeword or signal, and the freedom for anyone to step out of the dynamic at any time. Real-life respect never switches off. For meeting someone new, see our safety tips.
