Drop (sub drop / top drop): what it means
A low mood, tiredness or emotional dip that can follow an intense scene, sometimes hours or days later, as adrenaline and other feel-good chemicals wear off. It can affect anyone who took part. Aftercare, rest and a follow-up check-in help.
Also called: sub drop, top drop, Dom drop.
In practice
Drop is common and nothing to be embarrassed about. It can look like tiredness, sadness, irritability or feeling a bit lost after an intense experience. Rest, water, food, comfort and a check-in from a partner help. If low feelings linger or feel heavy, reaching out to a friend or a professional is a good idea.
Consent and safety
Consent tools only work when everyone agrees on them ahead of time, sober and without pressure. Anyone can pause or stop at any moment, and a “yes” last week is not a “yes” today. If something feels off, stopping is always the right call. For meeting someone new, see our safety tips.
